Fast2Play というゲームの Key(Code) を販売しているサイトで Humble Bundle に含まれていたゲームの Steam コード販売され、問題となっているようだ。このサイトを運営しているのは 7 Entertainment という会社。姉妹サイトの Kinguin などでも Humble Bundle の Steam Key が売られているようだ。（Fast2Play などへのリンクはここでは行わない。検索すれば出てくる。）

Services like Humble Bundle offer a pay-what-you-want service that is beneficial for developers, charities, and consumers. We’ve discovered that the PC games digital distributor 7 Entertainment and other sites are taking advantage of this generosity and obtaining Steam keys from Humble Bundles, or other similar services, and illegally reselling them for profit. We’ve investigated into the situation and reached out to some indie developers who have been affected by this practice.
Ed Key という Proteus の開発者がこのサイトで売られている Proteus のコードを実際に確認してみたところ、Humble Bundle 8 で販売されたものだったようだ。Humble Bundle はこの問題を認識してはいるけれど、まだコメントはない。
Fast2Play ではおそらく Humble Bundle で $1 で購入したものを再販しているのだろう。Humble Bundle の規約では再販を認めていない。記事ではそれを問題だとする一方で、Developer へお金が流れていないことも指摘されている。Fast2Play だけが利益を上げている。Ed Key は Fast2Play で Proteus を購入するくらいなら海賊行為(Pirate) をしろと言っている。
Humble Bundle は以前、購入した Bundle の Steam コードを表示しないようにシステムを変更した。これによって Steam コードの再販が防げるだろうと私も予想していたけれど、あまり抑止力にはならなかったようだ。また 7 Entertainment のサイトではゲームのコードだけでなく「Steam Gift」という形状でのゲームも販売されている。
この点について Steam は「attempting to sell a gift subscription is a violation of the Steam Subscriber Agreement and may result in your account being permanently disabled.」と言っている。Steam Gift も販売してはならないようだけど、Gift の交換はいいのだろうか。これは Steam 自身が推し進めているように見えるけれど…。
今回の問題に対し、7 Entertainment が Game Informer に返答したようで、「今後 Humble Bundle や他のチャリティーイベントのゲームを売らないようにする」とのこと。
Yesterday we reported on the questionable sale of Humble Indie Bundle game keys on PC distribution sites owned by 7 Entertainment. The company has offered a statement on the situation, and updated its terms and conditions to help prevent future sales of keys purchased through Humble Indie Bundle and other similar charity sites.
ともかく現状では Indie Game なら正規品がかなり安く購入できるので、こういうキー販売サイトを使うメリットがあまりない。リスクが高いだけ。
